Pattern atau pola yang digunakan untuk membuat kalimat present continuous adalah :

  (+) Subject + is/am/are + Verb-ing

  (-) Subject + is/am/are not + Verb-ing

  (?) is/am/are + Subject + Verb-ing ?

Present continuous tense adalah tense yang pada umumnya digunakan untuk menyatakan hal-hal berikut:

Keadaan di mana sebuah kejadian sedang berlangsung.
Contoh : Andy is walking his dog.
Andy sedang mengajak anjngnya jalan-jalan.
Keadaan di mana sebuah kejadian sudah direncanakan dengan pasti.
Contoh : The exam is going to start at 10 A. M. tomorrow.
Ujian akan dimulai pada pukul 10 pagi besok.
Keadaan di mana sebuah perubahan sedang berlangsung.
Contoh : We are getting older.
Kita (sedang) bertambah tua.

My brothers, this time learning system that will be faced by you is very different from our previous school year, as a force in 2013/2014 you will receive the new curriculum, the curriculum in 2013.

Narrative Text

Narrative text adalah teks yang bertujuan untuk menghibur pembacanya. Terdapat beberapa jenis narrative text, yaitu:

1. Fable

Generic Structure dari Narrative Text adalah:

• Orientation : It is about the opening paragraph where the characters of the story are introduced.(berisi pengenalan tokoh, tempat dan waktu terjadinya cerita (siapa atau apa, kapan dan dimana)

• Complication : Where the problems in the story developed. (Permasalahan muncul / mulai terjadi dan berkembang)

• Resolution : Where the problems in the story is solved. Masalah selesai, secara baik “happy ending” ataupun buruk “bad ending”.

• Coda / reorientation (optional) – lesson from the story

Language Features dari Narrative Text adalah:

• Use Past tense (killed, drunk, etc)

• Use adverb of time (Once upun a time, one day, etc)

• Use time conjunction (when, then, suddenly, etc)

• Use specific character. The character of the story is specific, not general. (Cinderella, Snow White, Alibaba, etc)

• Use action verbs. A verb that shows an action. (killed, dug, walked, etc)

• Use direct speech. It is to make the story lively. (Snow White said,”My name is Snow White). The direct speech uses present tense.

Menjawab pertanyaan pada buku Bahasa Inggris K 13 kelas 9 halaman 133. Pada halaman ini, siswa diminta untuk menjawab pertanyaan tentang cerita Legenda Tangkuban Perahu (Sangkuriang). Guru mengetes pengetahuan siswa tentang cerita ini sebelum nanti melengkapi paragraf cerita tentang Sangkuriang.

She was beautiful and kind-hearted. Her hobby was weaving  cloth. But sometimes she could be very lazy. dog. Tumang was actually a man  who had been cursed by a witch to become a dog. Dayang Sumbi married Tumang because One day her weaving tool  fell but she was too lazy to get it herself. She shouted out, “Can anybody  help me get my tool? If you are a female, I will take you as my sister. If  you are a male, I will marry you!”Tumang was a dog.Sangkuriang did not know that Tumang was his father.Sangkuriang killed Tumang because he did not want to disappoint her mother. He did not get any deer while he was hunting.If I were Dayang Sumbi, I would tell the truth that Tumang was Sangkuriang's father. The reason is Sangkuriang must respect to Tumang as his father.Dayang Sumbi  got very angry and hit Sangkuriang’s forehead with a piece of wood and  told him to leave. With a bad wound on his forehead, Sangkuriang left  the village.Sangkuriang did not kno that the woman he loved was Dayang Sumbi.She did not want to break Sangkuriang's heart.Before dawn, Dayang Sumbi asked the people in the village to burn the woods in the  East, and the light made all the cocks crow.Sangkuriang kicked the boat due to his anger.C. You should not hide the truth
